Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers
The Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers is a group of enthusiastic hobbyists who live in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. We love to share our knowledge and enjoyment of astronomy with other amateur astronomers and with the general public.
We welcome all new members to enjoy the most our club has to offer by participating in DVAA activities. They are encouraged to ask questions and pursue their interests in astronomy through the club.
The Messier Club is a group for DVAA members who are interested in observing, and meeting other DVAA members in an more informal social setting, to share observing information, help, ideas, and tips, with other DVAA members. It meets at member's homes and has no agenda other than a common interest in amateur astronomy. All club members are welcome. No experience necessary.
Local Group observing sessions are held at our (recently renovated) observatory just behind the Colonial Middle School in Plymouth Meeting (Google Maps), and are a great way for new members to connect with the DVAA and get “hands on” experience observing.
